We are revisiting a lot of the mechanics from the earlier weeks, mainly head movement, and putting it all together with all the recoveries, tactics, and footwork we've been working on. Some drills are going to look familiar, but we are levelling up our understanding. It's no longer just the combination: how are you getting in with the combination, how are you getting out after the combination, how are you staying active? Remember, we're not just boxing for fitness, we're really developing an understanding of the sport.
The main recovery we're adding this week are off straight punches with slip or parry side step. As well, now that you've gotten familiar with punching and head movement, we're adding to that slipping and rolling at the same time as a punch to your arsenal.
This is also the first week we have 12 rounds. Pace but challenge yourself at the same time. Moving forward 12 rounds will become the norm.
