This is it! The final week of our 12 week bootcamp... you did it! This week we're putting everything you've learned into practical styles and fight strategies, including how to fight different kinds of opponents. Boxing is not just a physical sport, it's a mental chess match against another person. It's important to understand and execute these different basic fight strategies because you'll need a mix of each during fights. You may favour a specific style, like stick & move, but you need to be able to change your style during fights in case your preferred isn't working. At the highest levels, top notch fighters know how to adapt against different styles by using different styles themselves.
I hope you walk away from this 12 week bootcamp with a much deeper understanding of the sport. Keep practicing all the mechanics and concepts you have learned in these 12 weeks. Boxing is a never ending pursuit, there's always something to improve. You have to stay forever a student of the game. Be obsessed with every aspect of the sport - physical, mental, styles and strategies.
I encourage you to revisit weeks where you feel you need more time with the concepts. If you feel you have competently understood and executed the mechanics and concepts of these past 12 weeks, the next steps for you maybe to get into a gym and take the steps towards sparring.
