We have covered quite a lot of new mechanics in the past few weeks. This week we're going to do a review, but at the same time, giving you space to be play around with all those concepts yourself. It's time to be creative! That means less about executing the drills I'm telling you and more about visualizing yourself in a fight. What would you throw? How would you counter? What's your style? What punches or defenses do you gravitate towards? This is the time to really start developing your fight IQ. This is what differentiates a fitness boxer and a competitive boxer! Every competitive boxer is training thinking actively about what punches or counters or defenses they're doing. This is your time to really start to investigate that for yourself! This is where the mental meets the physical, get into that flow state.
You have heard me tell those of you with more experience to 'stay active'. This is crucial to make sure you're really mimicking the work rate and tempo of a real fight. You don't have time to just relax between combinations during a fight. You have to stay in the zone the whole time and reacting. Please watch the technique video for this!
